Hi!  We’re Chuck and Shari, the owners of Sonoran Star.  Our balloon is a 1992 Aerostar RX8.  It is a 90,000 cubic foot balloon.  How big is that?  Well, you can fit 90,000 basketballs inside our balloon when it’s inflated!

As we start this blog we’re still student pilots, working on our Lighter Than Air (LTA) certification with the FAA.  Our goal with this blog is to chronicle the adventures of Sonoran Star and our quest to claim the privilege of flight over these beautiful United States.  We will also provide information and resources for other aspiring pilots.
